By strolling in the tight streets and alleys, you will have the opportunity to follow the historical development of this highly specialised neighbourhood, and to end by visiting its latest jewel: the Museum of Diamond (DIVA)*. Antwerp as the world centre of diamond trade - way more than just a slogan! The quality and the size of Antwerp diamonds have become a world label of quality, a synonym of a perfectly treated diamond of spotless beauty.
*About DIVA, museum for diamonds, jewellery and silver: DIVA is the museum for diamonds, jewellery and silver in Antwerp. A themed exhibition trail will take visitors on a journey through Antwerp’s diamond story, from illustrious past to awe-inspiring present. Some 600 objects from DIVA’s collection are presented in such a way that the public can engage with them in a meaningful way. Explore the charming streets and alleys of the Zurenborg neighbourhood: not the best known, but arguably the most beautiful part of the town, the houses and roads stemming from the Cogels-Osyleistreet will surprise and enchant your eye. Stunning Art Nouveau architectural features, surprising street art, playful façades and lots of details to be discovered. One may not joke when stating that you could spend a day just looking for details on the buildings.
